Square Enix is considering developing more remakes HD
Square Enix is considering the option of developing more HD-2D remakes from its SNES classics.
This HD-2D style, popularized by Octopath Traveler and we will see within a few weeks at Triangle Strategy, mix pixel art with 3D backgrounds in high definition.
In the past Nintendo Direct, the first remake of a classic was announced using this style. It is Live A Live, a JRPG published in 1994 and that until now had not been published outside of Japan.
Tomoya Asano, the producer of this remake, explained that "the president [of Square Enix, Yosuka Matsuda] ordered us to make a greater use of HD-2D, so we decided to think about remakes of ancient titles."
"We chose possible titles, we thought what could be done at HD-2D, and we present it to the President. That list included titles published by Square Enix for the Super Famicom; some adaptable to HD-2D, others who are not and some that was impossible Play, like Mahjong games ".
"We put them all and did a presentation that Live to Live was the best possible, the second age Actraiser".
Curiously Actraiser was already recovered a few months ago for Nintendo Switch with the Renaisssance HD Reasoner, despite the fact that it was used a different visual style.
Triangle Strategy will be published exclusively for Nintendo Switch next March 4. The prologue, whose progress can be transferred to the final version, can be downloaded now for free at the Eshop.
