ÖFB President announces: no convenient time for rangnick

Austria's football President Gerhard Millletich expects numerous changes around the national team to be committed by Ralf Rangnick as the new team manager.

"It will not be a convenient time," said the head of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) in a media circuit. "But that has to be the case. We need new impulses. If you have the chance to get such a man, you have to access."

According to the official, the possibilities of the national team were decisive in the contract negotiations with the current coach of the Premier League club Manchester United. "It has to be aware that a trainer ranknick brings changes. We have the potential for the players that we have a real chance of changing," said Milletich.

The ÖFB President put the financial possibilities of his association with 1:10 compared to Premier League club. Rangnick primarily irritated the potential of the selection around Captain David Alaba to be successful with her at the 2024 European Championship in Germany. "The qualification for the euro is not an issue for him at all, he wants to mix in the euro in Germany," emphasized Milletich.

Ralf Rangnick set to be announced as Austria manager but will continue Man Utd consultancy role

The 63-year-old Rangnick had signed a two-year contract as team boss on April 29. If the team qualifies for the EM 2024, the contract will automatically extend by two years to the 2026 World Cup.
